To ensure that all the valuable knowledge created through OER projects is readily accessible to a broad audience, the Hewlett Foundation has partnered with IssueLab to create a comprehensive OER document repository.
We envision a vibrant and vital knowledge management center where we can easily share and access the materials and documentation that we all use in our work to further the cause of OER. As you can imagine, this is no small goal. If you have presentations, white papers, data sets, evaluations, etc. related to OER, we welcome your participation.
Getting started takes just a few minutes of your or your administrative staff's time:
- Visit IssueLab and create a free Research Contributor account;
- Within minutes of creating an account you'll receive an activation e-mail. Follow the instructions to activate your account;
- Once your account is active you or your staff can add as many materials as you like.
- When adding new materials be sure to check the box next to "OER Research" on the "Satellite Sites" screen (the last screen you'll encounter before completing your addition) to request that your material be considered for inclusion in the OER repository.
You maintain all ownership rights to the materials you share through this new OER clearinghouse. You also have full control over how your materials are described and can edit them at any time. IssueLab's platform provides you with statistical data about access to your materials and allows you to share them with the larger IssueLab audience through the ongoing dissemination services IssueLab provides at no cost to Research Contributors.
If you have any questions or concerns about creating or accessing your Research Contributor account, or adding/maintaining materials, please contact Gabriela Fitz () or Lisa Brooks (), co-directors of IssueLab (phone: 773-649-1790).
Thanks for your interest!
